Drywall

Well DH went to the house today, The Dry wall is up!!!!! Holy COW! I'll will take pictures tomorrow and post them.

Also the fence guy will cost 3,100 bucks! I think i will have to think about it.

Fence and ramdom thoughts

So I went to meet the guy for the fence, He measured everything, and will get back to me, It will be a six foot wood fence with a gate. While I was there, The workers were putting in the insulation, about to put up the drywall, and the back door; I thought it was going to be a half glass door. Turns out it is an all glass (Yippee)
So I will have to buy plantation blinds for the door.

I also found out yesterday that the 8k tax credit will take 12-16 weeks to process (YIKES) If you amend your 2008 taxes So I am going to wait till we file of 2009 taxes for the tax credit. I hope some of the drywall will be done by Sunday, I'll take some pictures and post them. Today I could not go in the house because they were working.

Drywall Prat two

So I had my drywall meeting this morning. The builder and I went over where each plug, phone, and TV outlet is. He also saw the freebies that were thrown in. Told me I was lucky. So as it stands this is what we got.

We ordered 3 TV lines, We got 5
We ordered 2 phone lines, We got 4
We did not order a puter nook, We got one
We ordered ceiling fan outlets in two rooms, Master, Living We got them in every room.

I tried to slip in the pre wire for the speakers, No go.

Well all that is left is one more inspection, which is scheduled for tomorrow, then They will put in insulation Thursday, and start dry wall.

Well the electrical has passed, The builder called this morning, We have out pre drywall meeting tomorrow.

Inspection

Well we stop by the house today, I noticed a sticker from the city of Savannah, Plumbing has passed inspection! Next will be electrical.

That will be a while b/c I added another TV line. So the electrician need to come back out to put it in.

Another Perk We noticed today was the builder put TV jacks in the kids rooms (we did not ask for them b/c they were extra) That with the computer nook upstairs we have that we did not order b/c it was extra; needless to say I am very happy with my builder.

One more thing I noticed all the closets have heat and AC vents. This come with the house I just forgot.

There are no pictures b/c they are waiting for inspections, so nothing else is happening.

DH and I went patio, lawn mower and big screen TV shopping this weekend. As much as I want at 65inch tv, I may have to settle for 52-55 inch. The wall for the TV is 72 inches, but a 65 inch tv cost 4k.

The guy in lowes said they will start marking down patio, lawn mowers and grills in late oct early nov, Just around closing time. I am cheap, everything I buy WILL BE ON SALE.

Ok let me go I am just ranting now

Well today I went to see the house, You may not see it but the shingles are on, Also the heating and air, Hot and cold water, vents, and electric is in.

The tubs, showers are in also. I spoke to my Lorie, (she sold us our house) She says we are right on schedule, the the oct 28 closing will happen.

Inspection Time

Well here are the pictures of the house with the plastic paper before the siding goes up. Do not let the size out side fool you, this house is almost 2000 sq feet. This is an "green house" Very energy efficient home. All energy star appliances, toilets, windows, shower heads.

I spoke to an lady who will be living down the street from me, She say her Ga power bill is less than 100 bucks a month. Now I am paying for 1,300 sq ft 140.00 a month.

City of savannah, need to come in and inspect then...

The plumbers, electricians and the HAVC guys to come in and put their stuff in.

We have a closing date of oct 28. We will not make that date. It is ok, give me time to push my credit up higher for a lower % rate.

This is the house all closed in. This picture was taken a week ago, DH and I went there today, and they are about to put on the roof and siding. The inside is framed in, I can walk in every room, closet. The windows are in also. Tomorrow is labor day, I will go and take pictures of what I saw today.

Our new home/ well sort of......

Slab

After 15 years of renting, a few credit issues, and it never be the "right time" We are buying our first home. This is turning out to me the greatest time in my life. I have good credit, a car, car insurance, A few kids, a husband; All the stuff that makes you a grown up. This home completes the circle.

I will post pictures of the progress. Although there is some catching up since we have already started building. No biggie here are a few pictures.......
